20 years of Sanchi
Since 1994, Sanchi’s gentle fusion of old and new has made the flavours of Japan accessible to everyone. Given a fresh new look in 2013, Sanchi’s distinctive, accessible pack design uses iconic Japanese imagery, flavour and usage cues to help people recreate authentic Japanese recipes at home.
Sanchi uses Japan’s time-honoured traditions to produce great tasting food based on the principles of macrobiotic food production. For example, Sanchi Tamari Soy Sauce is naturally fermented in cedar wood barrels for a minimum of 18 months. It is rare for manufacturers to use authentic methods, but it guarantees Sanchi foods are very high quality.
The Sanchi range includes Organic Miso, Soya Sauces, Vinegar and Umeboshi Plums. Our manufacturer was the first to achieve organic certification in Japan in the 1980’s and we were the first company to produce organic versions of our traditional products at the time.
Most recently, Sanchi’s Tamari Soy Sauce won a 2013 Free From Food Award. When the Sanchi Tamari Soy Sauce first gained recognition in the trade in 1999, it won the Daily Mail organic new product of the year and a Soil Association Organic Food Award. Instant Miso Soup was commended on both occasions as well, testament to Sanchi’s high quality through the years.
The Sanchi range has four UK certified Gluten Free products available; Reduced Salt Tamari, Tamari, Organic Tamari and Instant Miso Soup with Seaweed.
Sanchi is available in branded retail sizes, plus bulk quantities of Soy Sauce, Miso, Vinegar, Sea Vegetables and Nigaru Tofu Coagulant.
