24.02.10: Palm Oil, Orang Utans and Crazy Jack Organic

BBC’s Panaroma 22 February raises the consequences of habitat destruction and the critical fate of orang utans and other rainforest species in making way for Oil Palm plantations.
Community Foods Ltd., the brand owners of Crazy Jack Organic have been aware of the issues the program raises for some time.
We have taken significant care to ensure there is no oil palm in any of our own brand products which include Crazy Jack Organic and Sanchi.
We would encourage all customers to query the source of oils in any products they purchase.

10.02.10: 'Food Inc' lifts the veil on our nations food industry
How much do we really know about the food we buy at our local supermarkets and serve to our families?
In recently released Academy Award Nominee ‘Food Inc’, filmmaker Robert Kenner lifts the veil on our nation's food industry, exposing the highly mechanized underbelly that's been hidden from the American consumer with the consent of our government's regulatory agencies, USDA and FDA.
Community and Crazy Jack Marketing Director Paul Moore went to the Food Inc Premier this week and comments, “This is a sober but highly engaging film about the food industry. Even for someone closely involved in the industry, campaigning for better food and dealing with these issues on a daily basis, the film still manages to shock. Go to see it. Hear what it has to say and decide for yourself what to do next. The best thing about the film? Our future is in our hands.”

- Organic Trade Board, Feb 10

The research is the first part of a major generic campaign which is being planned for 2010 to make organic more accessible to the general public and drive greater general awareness of the benefits of organic food.
