INTRODUCTION

Community Foods Limited is a major supplier of own label dried fruit, nuts, seeds and pulses to UK supermarkets. We pack a broad range of pack formats in our fully segregated manufacturing facility in Essex.

We are expanding our commercial sales team and require additional NPD resource to meet growth expectations.

THE CANDIDATE

Demonstrable success within the multiple sector is a must. You will be tenacious, ambitious and innovative in your business approach, displaying a strong desire to succeed and the determination to overcome hurdles in achieving your goals. You will be a strong communicator, with the ability to influence senior colleagues and comfortable presenting to both commercial and technical management at our customers. Your commercial acumen will be evident in all your work. We are seeking a confident and capable colleague.

Candidates should be degree educated in food science or technology and have experience in sensory analysis. You will be well informed in food safety legislation and nutritional analysis. Experience working with dried fruit and nuts would be an advantage.

THE ROLE

Build strong relationships with key stakeholders including product developers, technical managers and packaging specialists with major multiple retailers.

Proactively scan the market for new trends in product format, flavour, or packaging and present this to key commercial and technical staff on a regular basis.

Train and maintain a sensory panel that can be used for product development, benchmarking and product monitoring.

Develop and present new product, process, or packaging ideas to senior colleagues.

Champion all NPD own label projects end to end from gap analysis to successful launch.

Effectively gather, process and present market data in support of your projects, and to influence decision making.

Manage the critical paths/gatekeeper processes from insight to shelf

Enhancing product development by engaging directly with the retailers to understand product preference and NPD opportunities

Developing creative concepts that feed the 12 /24-month business plan ensuring excellent launch implementation

Work alongside the Commercial and Technical teams

Collaborate with suppliers and industry groups to identify profitable and sustainable opportunities within the Canned and Packaged Category

Participate effectively in multi-disciplinary teams within Community's Commercial/Technical/Operational Departments and other industry stakeholders to achieve and extend operational outcomes
